our story

We at Off The Rails pride ourselves on being one of the most unique places to eat and drink on the Isle of Wight; set along the old railway line (“Causeway") in Yarmouth’s former train station, the restaurant overlooks the outstanding natural beauty of the Yarmouth Marshes and Mill Copse. There is no other view like ours in Yarmouth. Being located along the Causeway makes it the perfect pitstop for walkers, cyclists and those visiting the Isle of Wight as the restaurant is just a 5 minute stroll from the Yarmouth Wightlink Ferry terminal.

We openly welcome dogs in our restaurant and offer an extensive dog menu, which includes a range of dry meals, treats and even dog friendly ice cream to keep them cool during the summer months.

Our talented chefs have dedicated their time to create a menu for all dietary requirements, whether you’re vegan, gluten free or dairy free, we have something for everyone. Not only does the food taste amazing, these stylish dishes are a great way to get those instagram likes up!  Off the Rails has won several good food guide awards since opening in 2014, restoration project awards and hospitality awards, making our restaurant one of the go to places when visiting the Isle of Wight.

Why not come along and see for yourself?

It’s amazing how much choice I had as a Vegan! The homemade mushroom chilli was incredible! I can’t wait to come back to try the vegan 1st class burger!
